Edo Period Diorama

Edo-Tokyo Museum Diorama

Diorama from the excellent Edo-Tokyo Museum. Located in the Ryogoku area of Tokyo, this museum traces the history of Tokyo up to the present day. It’s not your typical old boring museum with a bunch of old plates, paintings, and suits of armor, filled with technical descriptions only an archaeologist can understand. The Edo-Tokyo museum has excellent video displays, dioramas, and life-size replicas of interesting things that everyone can enjoy. They have also done a very good job of making it accessible to non-Japanese visitors through the use of English audio guides. For more information, visit the museum homepage.web analytics
